Has Cogie Domingo Turned his Back from Showbiz?
COGIE DOMINGO – The actor had a rare appearance at GMA-7’s “Bawal Judgmental” where he revealed the real reason behind his showbiz hiatus.
One of the most handsome faces in the Philippine showbiz industry is actor Cogie Domingo or Redmond Christopher Fernandez Domingo in real life. He was 18 years old when he joined the casts of ABS-CBN’s Cyberkada. It was followed by another huge project in 2000, Yakapin Mo Ang Umaga.
Cogie’s biggest break in showbiz was when he played the character of a juvenile prisoner in the movie Deathrow in the same year. It was directed by Joel Lamangan and also starred by the late veteran actor Eddie Garcia.
Throughought his showbiz career, Cogie was part of the projects from different networks as he has been under different home networks. However, in 2017, Cogie was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) due to drugs. He was allowed to post bail then.
However, since then, Cogie Domingo has been away from showbiz. Its been several years now since he was released from prison but he has yet to really come back to his acting career. His fans and supporters are hoping that he will be back soon. Recently, he made a rare appearance at Eat Bulaga’s Bawal Judgmental where he revealed the real reason behind his showbiz hiatus.
Based on a report on Pep, Cogie Domingo revealed that he was greatly affected by the death of his father, Attorney Rod Domingo, in December 2020 and it is one of the reasons why he is not yet ready to return to his showbiz career.
Meanwhile, based on the article, Cogie clarified that he is not turning his back from his acting career. He stressed that the craft is always in his heart and he wants to return to showbiz one day.
