Teacher was Moved by The Touching Excuse Letter Send by Student’s Parent
A teacher was moved by the touching excuse letter sent by the parent of a student who went absent for a long time.
The teacher couldn’t help but be moved by the excuse letter of a parent of a student who had been absent for more than a week. Marilee San Juan shared on Facebook the letter she received from the parent of one of her students informing her that he was unable to attend their lesson because there were no clothes for him to wear.
The sole uniform owned by the student, according to the letter, was ruined. The parent also discussed some of the difficulties they encounter, such as the scarcity of water and the need at times to take a bath in other place.
“Sorry po kung hindi ko po pinapasok ang anak ko kasi sa kadahilanan na wala na po silang masoot na damit at isa lang po ang uniform niya at nawarak pa po ang pantalon,” said the parent to the teacher.
They also have a trouble paying their rent, which is another issue. They made the decision to leave and remain on the street because they haven’t been able to recieve aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) since March 2022, based on the letter.
“Sa ngayon po hindi na kami natutulog sa inuupahan namin dahil hindi pa ako nakabayad sa upa ng bahay dahil ang kinikita ko ay sapat lang sa pagkain namin magiina at simula March 2022 hindi pa po kami nakapayout sa homeless family ng DSWD kaya ngayon balik kalsada muna kami natutulog. Maraming salamat sa pang unagawa,” according to the letter.
The teacher can’t help but show sadness for what her student is going through. According to Marilee, the student has been accumulating loads of absences since August.
“My learner, has been accumulating loads of absences since August (4Ps still), He has been absent for more than a week, and good thing he appeared last Thursday in time for our 1st Periodic Test. He gave me this letter, and this broke my heart,” the teacher said.
Social media users have responded to the aforementioned message in a variety of ways as a result of its online virality. Many netizens urged the authorities to assist the student’s family so that his academics wouldn’t be postponed.
