Muntinlupa Mayor Laments ‘Abusadong” Evacuees Destroying Facility

Muntinlupa Mayor Airs Dismay to ‘Abusadong” Evacuees Destroying Facility

Disappointed Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon laments the ‘abusadong’ evacuees who allegedly destroyed the evacuation facility.

On Facebook, the mayor of Muntinlupa posted some images from a public school classroom that was on the verge of being destroyed and damaged. According to his post, some evacuees who were transiently evacuated on October 29 during the height of typhoon Paeng lived there.

Biazon voiced his disappointment and annoyance with these residents in a lengthy Facebook post. He emphasized that, unlike in his own family, despite being the father of his city, he lacks the skills to discipline his constituents.

Kapag may naaapi o nadedehado, nalulungkot ako,” he added.

He claims that they have petitioned the Division Office of DEPED to permit the use of classrooms as extra evacuation locations due to the sudden flow of evacuees from the flooded areas to the evacuation centers. He observed that due to a similar experience, individuals are avoiding using schools.

However, the DepEd Division Office and the principals decided to use the classrooms as shelters from the typhoon’s lash out of concern for the impacted residents. He was disappointed, though, to see how badly the evacuees abandoned the facilities.

According to the photos, residents disperse rubbish around the school recklessly. The mayor also questioned why those who received shelter after a disaster appeared to be irresponsible toward the public property.

The mayor was thus questioned about whether or not this accurately describes modern society. In the end, Biazon vowed to ensure that those responsible for the incident in the classroom faced consequences. Like a child, he will act as a “father” and reprimand the offender.

Titiyakin kong may mananagot dito.
