6 Police Officers Sacked Over Huli-Dap Modus Operandi in Caloocan
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has sacked six police officers over ‘huli-dap’ modus operandi in Caloocan City.
The six police officers accused of being complicit in the “huli-dap” event that occurred in Caloocan seven months ago have been permanently fired. The officers were found guilty of the allegations of grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer, according to the NCRPO statement.
Police Corporals Noel Espejo Sison, Rommel Toribio, Ryan Sammy Gomez Mateo, Jake Barcenilla Rosima, Mark Christian Abarca Cabanilla, and Daryl Calija Sablay, all employed by the Caloocan City Police-Drug Enforcement Unit, have all been dismissed by order of the NCRPO (DEU).
Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo, the head of the NCRPO Police, stressed that their battle against dishonest police officers in Metro Manila is still ongoing and that the case of the six officers will serve as a lesson to law enforcement. Six police officers stopped vendor Eddie Yuson, who claimed he was only trying to buy food for his family, on the basis of his complaint.
He claimed that the police beat him before he stole his 14,000 from the government money he received. It matched what the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera at the location of the incident had recorded. The Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) recommended that the six police officers be fired after Yuson filed the case in April.
Scalawags have no place in the police, according to the NCRPO, and the misuse of authority is never acceptable. The NCRPO also gave the public the reassurance that their complaints against abusive cops are heard, taken seriously, and thoroughly investigated.
