Magracia narrated that his 11-year-old nephew identified as alias “Teng” buys a copy of “Noli Me Tangere” and reads it. The grade 6 student bought the book out of curiosity about the Kapuso show.

Teacher Joey who teacher at Meycauayan, Bulacan described his nephew as a gadget addict and a lady kid who spends most of her time playing mobile games. He was surprised after hearing the good news.

The latter finds his nephew’s initiative as an act of maturity and described it as a refreshing act, especially during this digital age. Joey explained that his nephew can ask him or other people but he chooses to find the answer himself.

I went home from work to hear this amazing story coming from my Mom and Sister. “Si Teng ay bumili ng libro at nakatulog habang nagbabasa, nakarating na din ata sya sa loob ng libro” and I was like

Just to give you a context, ang batang tinutukoy dito ay hindi palabasa, sakto lang sa school, grabehan sa gadget, oh yes, sobrang sutil pagdating sa gawaing bahay vs mobile games. Kaya naman hearing those words made me really shocked and a bit happy. Kase naman, uy may hint na ng konting pag-asa na nagmamature na ang little binata namin

Paano ko nasabi?

1. The fact na bumili sya ng libro is a mature act, the first action to curiosity is research and reading a book is such form.

2. He could have ask questions to me or his classmates or his teacher, pero instead he finds a way on his own. Many kids ngayon magrely nalang sa kung anong narinig sa kaklase or napanood na opinion sa socmed, pero he chose to find answers sa book, plus 100 to sa langit and hopefully sa AP Teacher nya. ‘Yun lang. I am just one proud Tito for this moment and I hope this would result to a much more better attitude towards his study.

And to the makers of Maria Clara at Ibarra, isang pagsaludo sa inyo at sa inyong craft. Salamat sa isang fresh take to reserve our beloved history laban sa mali at pekeng impormasyon na naglaganap.

O anong oras na ba? Manunuod din muna ako ha?

Okay?

Note: Noli Me Tangere is not a HISTORICAL BOOK but FICTION based on real-life stories of people in a particular era. Let’s not confuse history with fiction.
