Jake Zyrus Mom Raquel Pempengco Says 'May papalit na kay Charice'

Raquel Pempengco, the mother of singer Jake Zyrus said that there is someone who will replace Charice.

Jake, formerly known as Charice Pempengco, made an international success. From being a “kontesera” or a constant singing competition contestant, Charice was able to be known on the international scene because of her remarkable voice.

She was able to perform with Celine Dion and David Foster, and she was even interviewed by Ellen DeGeneres and Oprah Winfrey. Charice even appeared as Sunshine Corazon in the hit musical series Glee.

However, it is known to many that when the transition happened, stints for the singer were not as frequent as before. In a recent Facebook post, based on the article in Balita, Raquel Pempengco shared a video of the performance of Tawag ng Tanghalan contestant Mary Khem Cabagte. “This is it! May papalit na kay Charice..” the mother of Jake Zyrus said.

There were netizens who disagreed with Jake’s mom. They said that even though the TNT contestant is good but Charice is much better. “Puwede mommy… kasing range ng voice ni Charice… Magaling din to. Pero mas powerful talaga si Charice… wala nang papalit…” a netizen commented.

In another post, Mommy Raquel pointed out that success has a lot of factors to be considered and not just being talented. She said that talent is useless if there is no right connection and right decision. She also reminded the hopefuls to keep their feet on the ground.

“Yan ang sinabi ni OPRAH kay CHARICE noong nag-uumpisa pa lang siya. Pag inuna ang yabang? Sabihin ko na sa inyo wala kayong patutunguhan…” Mommy Raquel shared. She added that she can see that there were those who are already “feeling sikat” even though there is nothing happening big in their careers yet.

Jake’s mother reiterated the importance of having the right people around one’s self. “Real talk and Advice lang po… Based on my experienced,” Raquel Pempengco said.
