DOJ Chief Boying Remulla Called Out to Resign after Son’s Arrest

Netizens Called Out Remulla to Resign as DOJ Chief After Son’s Arrest

Several netizens have called out Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla to resign as Department of Justice (DOJ) chief after his son’s arrest.

After his son was detained in a significant drug bust, the online community called for Remulla to quit his position. Juanito Jose Diaz Remulla III, Remulla’s son, was detained by PDEA agents in Las Pias City on Tuesday for possessing a package containing almost one kilogram of “kush” or high-grade marijuana.

Given that Remulla is the head of the Department of Justice, some online commenters suggested that he step down out of respect and to ensure an impartial inquiry and trial. In a statement, Remulla made it plain that he will not interfere with or change the circumstances around his son and “will let justice run its own course.”

Meanwhile, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. allegedly said the call for resignation against Remulla is baseless. According to the Inquirer article, President Marcos told the reporters at the 8th Annual Balik Scientist Convention that the call had “no basis” though.

“I think the calls for him to resign have no basis. You call for somebody to resign if he’s not doing his job or they have misbehaved in that job. He has done quite the contrary,” the President told reporters.
