Christian Bables shared this story about his mom
Award-winning actor Christian Bables revealed that his mom has a real-life “Ang Tanging Ina” Story.
Ang Tanging Ina is a movie that was released in 2003 featuring Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas and prominent actress-comedienne Eugene Domingo. In the movie, Ai-Ai’s character Ina Montecillo’s first husband, played by Edu Manzano, died.
Then, her second husband, played by Tonton Gutierrez, died also. After that, Ai-Ai’s character once again found love but on her wedding day with her supposed third husband, played Jestoni Alarcon, he died as well.
In a recent interview on Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga‘s Toni Talks on YouTube, Christian Bables revealed that his mom has the same story with Ai-Ai delas Alas’s character in Ang Tanging Ina. “Lagi siyang namamatayan ng asawa,” he said about his mom.
The actor shared that he has an older brother whose father was a Filipino soldier. Eventually, his brother’s father died. Christian said that his dad also passed away and the current partner of his mother almost died.
“Itong bago, muntik-muntikan. Buti na lang hindi natuloy,” the actor quipped. He also shared that his looks came from the foreign blood of his mother and father. Christian’s mom is half-Filipino and half-Spanish, while his dad was American-Indian. Although he was born in Cavite, he grew up in a Bisaya household.
In the same interview, the actor shared his showbiz journey. He said that his initial dream was to become a dancer and not an actor. It is because he was a member of a dance group when he was in school. Christian Bables also shared that he wanted to become a host, news anchor, and disc jockey.
When acting was introduced to him when he was in college, his full attention was captured by this.
