Beauty queen MJ Lastimosa shared the effect of TikTok on her when seeing Filipinas with a foreigner (AFAM) partner at the airport.
MJ took to Twitter to extol the effects of TikTok, one of the most popular video streaming services, on her. . According to her tweet, a song comes up in her mind when sees a couple while at the airport.
The song ‘Only Love Can Hurt Like This’ by Paloma Fate allegedly plays in her mind when she sees Filipina women along with their foreign partner or AFAM. AFAM (A Foreigner Assigned to Manila) is a slang term for a foreigner who visits the Philipines.
“Grabe na epekto ng tiktok sakin, nag lalakad ako sa airport tas bawat pinay/afam couple na makikita ko tumutugtog yung “only love can hurt like this” sa utak ko. halpppppp!!!!!” the beauty queen wrote in her tweet.
Her followers also shared their reactions to her tweet. Others, on the other hand, suggested that the song should be ‘Forevermore’ sang by Fililipino singer Jed Madela.
Social media was flooded with videos of Filipina ladies greeting their AFAM at the airport. The background music for the meeting video also featured the Jed Madela song.
Finding a foreign partner has recently been popular since several Filipinas aspire to live a prosperous life. Some women claim that in order to escape poverty, you must find and marry an AFAM.
