Vicki Belo had a medical struggle years ago
Celebrity doctor Vicki Belo revealed that in 2016 she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
Vicki is admired for being so youthful. Her name in the cosmetic industry in the Philippines is already an icon. A lot of celebrities and socialites are clients of her Belo Clinics.
Despite her vibrant and youthful personality, in 2016, Vicki had to deal with a scary situation concerning her health. In an episode of Korina Interviews, Vicki Belo opened up to Korina Sanchez about her battle with cancer.
The celebrity doctor shared that she went to Europe for her medical treatment and she was told by the doctors that there is a possibility that she might die. “‘Don’t bother to have chemo. Don’t bother, just fix your affairs, you’re dead in two years,’” Vicki shared the advice that she got.
Then, the celebrity doctor went to New York Presbyterian but again, she was told that they were uncertain if she will survive. Vicki Belo said that many people did not know about this as she continued to have public appearances.
She shared that she even had a CNN interview two days after her chemotherapy. “While I was having my interview, hair was falling on the fall,” she shared, adding that she can’t concentrate at that time on sharing about her plans.
The celebrity doctor said that having cancer at that time made her feel not so enthusiastic about having plans for the future. “I don’t plan because I don’t know if I’ll gonna be alive or not and they (doctors) told me na I’m gonna be dead,” she shared.
With her intention to take away the attention from her, Vicki talked about her daughter Scarlet Snow Belo who was already one year old back then. The celebrity doctor said that had no plan of revealing their daughter to the public.
“I didn’t know what to say, gusto ko yung attention mawala sa akin. We weren’t planning to say anything,” Vicki Belo said. This made them introduce their daughter to the public.
