Jeric Gonzales shared what happened during Start-Up PH‘s first shooting day
Kapuso actor Jeric Gonzales revealed that Direk Jerry Sineneng talked to him about his Start-Up PH co-stars Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards.
Jeric portrays the character of Dave Navarro. In the original South Korean series, his character is Nam Do-san who was portrayed by Nam Joo-hyuk. He is the love interest of Bea’s character Dani Sison.
In a previous interview, Jeric expressed the overwhelming feeling that he has to be part of this series together with Bea. He even called the former Kapamilya actress a “true superstar“.
In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Jeric Gonzales shared that one of their director, Direk Jerry Sineneng, noticed something in him when they started shooting for the series.
The actor who came from GMA’s Protege shared that during their first shooting day, he still had difficulty getting at ease on the set. “Kinakapa mo pa kung how you will play the role,” he shared. Jeric recalled that after the taping, Direk Jerry approached him.
“Tinanong niya ako, ‘naiintimidate ka ba kay Bea at tsaka kay Alden?'” the actor shared what their director asked him. Jeric said that he was a bit nervous but excited. He felt overwhelmed.
With this, Direk Jerry boosted Jeric’s confidence and gave him inspiring words to motivate him. The director told him that he is fit for the role and once his portrayal is commendable, he will have a “thumbs up” reaction.
After that conversation with their director, Jeric Gonzales said that he felt at ease. “Nakuha ko na siya paano siya i-play,” the actor said.
Start-Up PH is airing weeknights at 8:50 pm. Also included in the cast are Yasmien Kurdi, Gina Alajar, Boy II Quizon, Kim Domingo, Royce Cabrera, and Jackie Lou Blanco.
