Teenage Biker Accidentally Run Over by Van After Truck Driver Suddenly Opened Its Door
A teenage biker passed away due to accident after a truck driver opened the vehicle’s door without noticing the approaching cyclist.
Nowadays, road accident has been one of the most common traffic problems not only in the Philippines but also in different countries all around the world over the past few decades. It usually causes injuries and even death to the victims.
Reckless driving is one of the most common causes of vehicular accidents. The authorities are implementing stricter traffic policy to prevent such incidents but a lot of motorists continue to defy the traffic rules and regulations.
A young man named John Martin Perez is riding his bicycle along San Jose, Batangas when being run over by a closed van. Before the incident, he accidentally hits the door of an elf truck.
The victim suffered a major injury to his head and different parts of his body. The incident happened at Barangay Calansayan in San Jose, Batangas. The truck driver has been identified as Philip Cuga-ay while the van driver has been named as Michael Lachica.
According to Lachina who is currently detained at the police station, the victim is running a little bit more than usual. The truck driver did not notice the cyclist while opening the door. The biker hits the truck’s door.
“Ako po’y nakaparada nay un pong pagbaba ko pagbukas ko ng pinto ayun may lumagatok na bigla kasi ang pagbukas ko, siguro yung side mirror ay hindi ko na rin nakita,” Cuga-ay explained.
The incident sent the male teenager pummeling on the ground and getting hit by a van. The victim suffered serious injuries, which leads to his untimely death.
The truck and van driver will face corresponding sanctions and penalties due to the incident.
