Land Transportation Office Sends Condolences to Former LTO Chief Bert Suansing’s Family

FORMER LTO CHIEF – Alberto “Bert” Suansing, a former head of the Land Transportation Office (LTO), died at the age of 70.

One of the biggest government agencies in the Philippines is the Land Transportation Office. More commonly called LTO, this government body with several branches across the nation is tasked in the releasing of driver’s licenses to the qualified drivers and the registration of vehicles. It has been led by several people who sat as its chief.

One of the former chiefs of the LTO is Alberto “Bert” Suansing. He has also served in the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) as its chairman. The said body regulates “land-based transportation, and to safeguard the welfare and interests of the commuting public”.

Recently, an update about former LTO chief Bert Suansing crossed the surface. The LTO confirmed the death of the former LTO head and expressed its condolences to his family. He was 70 years old.

Former LTO Chief Bert Suansing Dies

LTO, which is now led by Secretary Jaime J. Bautista, described Suansing as a “dedicated public servant and exceptional leader” on its Facebook post. It further described the former LTO Chief as one of those who was instrumental in pushing for road transport stakeholders’ welfare.

“We salute you Usec. Suansing! Rest in Peace, sir,” LTO stated.

Aside from being a former chief of the LTO and the LTFRB, Bert Suansing has also served as a senior consultant of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and as a consultant of the Toll Regulatory Board. He was also the secretary general of the Philippine Global Road Safety Partnership.
