Darryl Yap Wins the ‘Best Director’ in Golden Globe Royal Awards
DARRYL YAP – The Director of ‘Maid in Malacañang’ wins the ‘best director’ award in Golden Globe Royal Awards.
The Golden Globe Royal Achievement Awards’ official Facebook page published the initial list of recipients. For his Martial Law film “Maid in Malacañang,” Darryl Yap gets recognized with two awards.
The controversial director is named “best director of the year” based on the stance. He wins the “blockbuster director of the year” award for his movie, which depicts the Marcos family’s final 72 hours in the Malacañang Palace.
Additionally, Cesar Montano is named “best actor of the year.” The former president Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. is portrayed by Montano. Diego Loyzaga, his son, takes up the award for “best supporting actor of the year.” Beverly Salviejo won the award for “best-supporting actress.”
In the meantime, honors were given to their competing movie, “Katips.” The mentioned prize goes to Johnrey Rivas for “best-supporting actor” and Vince Taada for “best actor.” Tañada issued a statement expressing his gratitude for the new prize.
“Another recognition. Thank you very much,” said Tañada.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 14, 2022, and it will also be televised in India, the United Arab Emirates, Hawaii, London, and Singapore. It should be noted that the two movies are still competing at the box office and have opened in foreign theaters.
