Barbie Forteza shared an unforgettable acting experience
Kapuso actress Barbie Forteza recalled the unaired five slaps scene she did with seasoned actress Jean Garcia in the series Stairway To Heaven.
The said series that was adapted from the K-drama with the same title was the big break for Barbie as a drama actress. In the said Kapuso teleserye, which featured the tandem of Dingdong Dantes and Rhian Ramos, Barbie portrayed the character of young Jodi.
Barbie said that she will never forget this show. “Yan, grabe and show na yan,” she said during an interview by the Philippine Entertainment Portal. The actress said that she experienced a lot of her firsts in showbiz through this show. “Yan talaga ang training ground ko,” she shared.
She did a scene with Jean and she recalled an amusing story about this in an. During the interview, a clip was shown highlighting an intense drama scene between Barbie Forteza and Jean Garcia.
The seasoned actress slapped the younger actress. Barbie said that it can be noticed that it was cut. She said that it looked like Jean had a previous action before that powerful slap.
Barbie revealed that the slap was actually five times. However, it was edited to make it just one slap because the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board did not allow that scene to be aired with five intense slaps.
“Limang sampal siya pero hindi na-ere kasi na-MTRCB kami,” Barbie Forteza recalled. However, she said that it was really written in the script that Jean will give her five slaps.
Barbie also recalled that she was trained to follow the slap because of that scene. She was taught by Jean to go with the slap so that it won’t be faithful. “Yung unang sampal lang yung naramdaman ko, ‘tapos the rest manhid na yung pisngi ko,” the younger actress recalled and laughed at what she experienced.
