Other Cases of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to Be Investigated by the DOJ
The Department of Justice (DOJ) will investigate the alleged cases of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.
In response to the s*x trafficking case that the so-called “chosen son of God” Quiboloy is involved in, the DOJ is taking action. During the Chamber’s plenary discussion of the agency’s budget proposal, the DOJ made this announcement.
Rep. Arlene Brosas of the Gabriela Partylist brought up the ongoing case against Quiboloy, raising the issue of the DOJ’s course of action. Rep. Ruwel Peter Gonzaga of Davao de Oro, who is the sponsor of the budget for the DOJ, responds that some of the cases brought against Quiboloy have been dropped, while others are still being looked at.
It was not made clear what kinds of cases Quiboloy was involved in that the DOJ was looking at. Based on the report, the Davao City Prosecutor’s Office’s decision to dismiss the charges of rape, child abuse, forced labor trafficking, and s*xual assault against Quiboloy will be remembered in 2020.
In addition, he is the subject of five other lawsuits. The Office of the Justice Secretary is still reviewing the case, so the judgment in this instance is not yet final.
The DOJ shouldn’t disregard the situation, according to Brosas, especially when the accusations against Quiboloy are very severe. Gonzaga pledged to provide the House with a report on the latest developments in Quiboloy’s case.
In addition to the domestic s*x trafficking case, Quiboloy is also wanted by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for involvement in a conspiracy to commit s*x trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, as well as s*x trafficking of children, fraud, and coercion, conspiracy, and bulk cash smuggling.
