Cristy Fermin rallied behind Zephanie Dimaranan
Veteran showbiz writer Cristy Fermin defended Zephanie Dimaranan amid the viral statement that Vice Ganda had during the Idol Philippines grand finals.
To recall, Vice and Zephanie became a trending topic on social media after the former gave his message to the new winner of Idol PH. The latter was the winner of the first season of the said singing contest.
Vice said to the new winner to stay in the Kapamilya network. To recall, Zephanie signed a contract with GMA a few months ago. With this, netizens easily linked Vice’s statement to Zephanie’s network transfer.
In line with this, Cristy Fermin shared her opinion, based on the article in Balita. The veteran showbiz writer said that talking about reality, Vice was able to say that because he is already a millionaire.
However, Cristy said that in the case of Zephanie, she is a breadwinner and she is striving to provide for her family while achieving her dreams as well. “Ginawa ng bata ang lahat-lahat,” she said.
Then, Cristy mentioned the fans’ statement to defend Zephanie and it was the alleged non-renewal of her contract with ABS-CBN. “At ano naman ang gagawin niya sa ABS-CBN. Napakarami ninyong artista diyan na wala ngang ginagawa, hindi pa ni-renew,” the showbiz writer said, adding that it is just natural for the young singer to go where she can earn money.
Cristy Fermin pointed out that Zephanie Dimaranan has done nothing wrong when she decided to be a Kapuso. The writer said that GMA has a good offer and she can’t see anything wrong if the young singer saw this as a good opportunity.
Cristy also mentioned that there was also a time when Vice left the people who helped him before he reached the success the he now has.
As of this writing, ABS-CBN and the camp of Zephanie haven’t released a statement yet regarding the rumored non-renewal of the contract between them.
