Janine Gutierrez talked about choosing the right projects for her
Actress Janine Gutierrez admitted that she started getting pickier with projects after she won an Urian Best Actress award.
Janine received the said award from the Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino in 2019 for the movie Babae at Baril. She is from a prominent showbiz family whose members have established their names in the industry for many years now.
Being one of the Gutierrez’s, Janine has established her name as well as one of the most sought-after leading ladies of her generation. When it comes to the projects that come along her way, she said that she is choosing the right one for her.
“It’s actually because I started choosing my projects that I got an Urian,” Janine Gutierrez said during a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer. For her, receiving an acting word gives her affirmation that what she is doing is right.
This also means that it is a good thing to “work on projects that she believes in and to collaborate with a team that she trusts.” This perspective of the actress started when she did the movie Elise.
She shared that when she read the script, she loved it and after the filming, she was surprised that it was even better than what she has expected. From that, she started to be choosy.
“‘Elise’ started it all for me. I told myself that if I’d say ‘yes’ to something, it has to be as good as this one,” Janine said. She added that she wants to make more worthwhile movies and continue to watch this kind of content on the big screen because, for her, the experience of watching in cinemas is different.
Then, Janine Gutierrez recalled the struggle that the producers of her movie Ngayon Kaya with her rumored boyfriend Paulo Avelino went through. The showing of the said movie was delayed because of the pandemic.
