Akalun is a supporter of the ASG’s leader Pasil Bayali, who is based in Basilan and whose surrender was credited to the ongoing military and law enforcement operations against the ASG in Sumisip town. In the meantime, Abu Junjun surrendered to the 20th Special Forces Company (SFC) of the police on Sunday in Patikul, Sulu, and handed over an M79 grenade launcher.
