PDEA Gives P9 Million Cash Rewards to 11 Civilian Informants
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) hands out cash rewards to eleven (11) civilian informants of the agency.
The cash incentives are personally given to informants during the awarding ceremony on September 6, 2022 at the PDEA National Headquarters in Quezon City by PDEA Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva. The Agency paid out P9,684,257 in monetary rewards to eleven civilian informants.
The informants were Dream, Indah, Aquaman, Bruno, Datu, Jojo, Mashu, Marvin, Mambo, Ali, and Tin, who have been recognized by their codenames. They are giving information that helped PDEA Operation: Private Eye.
Information given helps to conduct anti-drug operations successfully and resulted in the recovery of significant quantities of illegal substances and the arrests of high-value targeted drug personalities, based on the report.
Meanwhile, the Philippine National Police (PNP) gave out P3.3 million in rewards to informants who helped the police catch some of the nation’s 14 most wanted criminals. The PNP’s Deputy Chief for Administration Police, Lt. Gen. Jose Chiquito Malayo, handed off the rewards to the tippers, who were honored in Camp Crame in a brief ceremony.
The people detained are wanted for murder, forced abduction with r*pe, multiple unsuccessful murder attempts, and r*pe. Malayo claims that the PNP’s scheme includes paying monetary prizes to informants in exchange for their assistance in apprehending wanted criminals.
