He referred to reported 2014 occurrences where Deniece, Cedric Lee, and others were supposedly still imprisoned despite the motion for reconsideration made by their camp. They were charged by Secretary Leila De Lima’s Office of the Secretary of Justice.

Navarro was accused of violating Article 266-A (1) of the Revised Penal Code as modified by R.A. by the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office. 8353. However, Taguig City Executive Judge Antonio Olivete issued a ruling granting the Navarro camp’s request to postpone the case’s raffling.

A motion for reconsideration of Vhong’s case has been submitted to the CA in the meantime by his legal team. Atty. According to Alma Mallonga, the filing of a move for reconsideration halts the decision’s execution under the Rules of Criminal Procedure.

The motion, according to the attorney, caused Taguig Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Antonio Olivete to halt the case’s raffle or designate a judge to hear it. The prosecutor charged Navarro with raping the victim on January 17, 2014, while intoxicated and using “force, threat, and intimidation.”
