Jo Koy does not like this word when talking about his aspirations
Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy interrupted Kapamilya host Robi Domingo after he said this word during a recent interview.
Jo is currently promoting his movie Easter Sunday which features the Filipino culture. The stand-up comic has been raising the flag of the Philippines in different parts of the globe with his brand of humor.
He has been very proud of his Filipino roots and his shows would always feature the country where his mother came from. Jo said that he wants to open more opportunities for Filipinos in Hollywood. He also wants to create more stories that will feature Filipino culture.
In an interview, based on PEP’s video, Jo Koy shared that he is happy to be in the Philippines again. He said that it has been his dream to come to the country with a project like Easter Sunday.
The comedian said that there were times that he thought of giving up already and he is thankful to God that he did not quit. Robi Domingo said, “Maybe you’re right here is a manifestation that uh…”
Jo interrupted him saying, “Can I interrupt you? I don’t like using that word ‘manifestation.” He thinks that it is overused and it is misinterpreted. The comedian said that it has become normalized in basic conversation.
When using this word, Jo thinks that one is not actually living his or her dream because you would just constantly say “manifesting”. For him, this is just envisioning and the passion is no longer present.
“I’m not manifesting it like I can care less if anything else happens. I’m gonna live what I dreamed to do no matter what. So I’m not manifesting anything. All of this is just a bonus feature in my career,” he explained.
He added that what is happening now is a beautiful chapter of the book that he wants to write.
