Last year, he had a Netflix special that showcased the Filipino culture to the whole world as it was not simply a comic show. Now, he is adding a new feather in his cap because he will star in his own sitcom.

Based on the article in The Philippine Star, Josep is about the life of a working nurse (Jo Koy) trying to deal with different aspects of his life like dating, fatherhood, and his strong-willed Filipino mother who moved in with him along with hilarious complications she brings.

On his Instagram post, the Fil-Am comedian also shared this wonderful news. “Excited to show you all what we’re working on over at @abcnetwork #filipinofamily,” Jo wrote in the caption of his post.

Jo Koy is known for showcasing the traits of Filipinos in his shows, especially his funny stories about his Filipina mother who calls him Josep instead of Joseph.

In a statement that was released last year, the Pinoy comedian revealed that he grew up watching Eat Bulaga, and the TVJ trio (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon) became his inspiration.
