Is it true that Joshua Garcia and Gabbi Garcia will work together in a series?
Rumor has it that Kapamilya actor Joshua Garcia and Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia will star in a collaboration series of ABS-CBN and GMA.
It is known to many showbiz fans that network rivalry in the Philippines is intense. However, in recent years, the competition has become a collaboration just like what happened between ABS-CBN and TV5. Some shows on the Kapamilya network are now being aired on the Kapatid network.
GMA artists and ABS-CBN artists have done several movie projects together as well, just like what Kapuso star Alden Richards and Kapamilya star Kathryn Bernardo did in the blockbuster movie Hello, Love, Goodbye.
Based on the article by PEP Troika columnists, another collaboration will happen between ABS-CBN and GMA. Reportedly, the two networks will collaborate on a series that will feature Joshua Garcia and Gabbi Garcia.
Columnist Gorgy Rula shared that Dreamscape Entertainment will produce the said project. However, columnist Noel Ferrer shared that people from the Kapamilya network are still careful about talking about this rumored collaboration.
A source from ABS-CBN initially said, “No idea for now. Alam mo naman, kami sa Production ang last to know. Hehehe.” Later on, when details were revealed about this collaboration series, a friend of Ferrer from the Kapamilya network said, “Oh that would be exciting kung pwede nga.”
Then, Ferrer recalled when ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak talked about what he envisions when it comes to making collaborative efforts with other networks. The TV executive once said this: “We hope the industry evolves from being highly competitive to increasingly collaborative, which benefits all stakeholders in the long run.”
Meanwhile, ABS-CBN and TV5 paused their collaboration following the criticism it received from the National Telecommunications Commission and Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, one of the congressmen who voted against the renewal of the Kapamilya franchise. Marcoleta said that this collaboration is against the law.
