Alyssa Valdez Shares Update, Details Complications From Dengue

Here’s an update about Alyssa Valdez who got dengue.

ALYSSA VALDEZ – Volleyball star Phenom Alyssa Valdez now on the road to recovery after contracting dengue.

Last August 19, the Philippine National Volleyball Federation announced Phenom Alyssa Valdez will not be joining the Asian Volleyball Confederation Cup for Women and this is because of dengue.

And in August 31, she detailed the struggles she had when she contracted dengue. Accordingly, the first few days was bad for her. She experienced high fever, body pain, and headache and making her situation worse, she was not able to eat or drink anything.

After a week, the complications set in and her liver became inflamed which led to her admission in the hospital. She also suffered from bleeding.

Her platelet count also continued to go down and reached the dangerous count of 37.

The doctors advised her to have blood transfusion, however, she added, “My first few hours in the hospital were very crucial. Waited for all the lab results and thankfully my doctors decided not to push through with the transfusion. Thank God everything slowly got better!”

She still has to go through some tests but she assured her fans that she is now “on the road to a full recovery”. Valdez is now just waiting for the result of the final test she done before she gets the all clear to go home.

Phenom thanked everyone who prayed for her and the people who took care of her.

Meanwhile, her team ended up finishing sixth at the AVC. The final match of the Philippine team was against Chinese Taipei but bowed down to them on Monday night, with the scores: 26-28; 21-25; 21-25.
