Man Who Climbed Zoo Enclosure to Steal Cubs Attacked by Lions
GHANA – A group of lions devoured and killed a crazy man who climbed into the zoo enclosure to steal cubs.
Last Sunday (August 28, 2022), a group of lions devoured a Ghana man who climbed into their enclosure. The police authorities are already investigating the incident, which reportedly happened in the capital city of Accra.
The individual has been described as a middle-aged man but his identity remains unknown. The victim’s remains body was collected and taken to a morgue. The cops will continue to investigate the incident.
According to reports, the intruder breached two fences, one measuring 10 feet and the other 20, to gain access to the cage.
One lion, a lioness, and their two pups were kept inside the enclosure. Since the cubs were born with albinism, which causes their fur to appear white, they have attracted a lot of attention from the public.
“The intruder was attacked and injured by one of the lions, within the inner fencing of the enclosure. The intruder has been confirmed dead from injuries sustained and the body has been conveyed to the morgue,” the Forestry Commission said in a statement.
The officials are suspecting the intruder to steal the white lion cubs but ended up being attacked by lions. The victim suffered serious injuries, which lead to his untimely death. The zoo has temporarily closed its doors to the public to give way to the investigation.
Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Benito Owusu Bio also advised the public to refrain from committing such things.
