Foreigner Ends Up Selling ‘Turon’ in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental After Being Bankrupt

A poor foreigner from England ends up selling ‘Turon’ across the streets just to survive after he was bankrupt.

The Facebook “DUMAGUETENOS” has shared the video footage of a hardworking foreigner from England who ends up selling ‘turon’. The video goes viral and garnered various reactions from the online community.

In the video, it can be seen that the England national identified as Paul is roaming around the streets amid the scorching heat of the sun just to sell Banana lumpia with caramel. He is ‘turon’ for only P5 per piece.

A concerned netizen interviewed Paul and learned that he has no passport or visa. He ends up selling goods after being bankrupt. The netizen offered help and promised to send the video to Raffy Tulfo.

According to the foreign national, he is living in the area together with his wife and two children. He suffered bankruptcy due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and even refused to accept the concerned netizen’s help for being shy.

The concerned netizen named James promised Paul to share the video online with the aim to reach Raffy Tulfo for help.

What is Turon?

It is a slice of banana rolled in a spring roll wrapper and fried till the wrapper is crisp then dusted with brown sugar. Sometimes, it also includes other fillings such as jackfruit, sweet potato, mango, coconut or cheddar cheese.
