Gary Valenciano talked about competition in the entertainment industry
Gary is considered one of the icons of the music industry in the Philippines. He has already done countless sold-out concerts in the Philippines and abroad. His songs have become part of the lives of many people from different walks of life. Different generations are also enjoying his music.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Gary mentioned Martin as he talked about the competition that is happening between Kapamilya’s Sunday musical variety show ASAP Natin ‘To and Kapuso’s All-Out Sundays.
Gary Valenciano acknowledges that there is really a competition happening between the two shows. For him, this competition keeps them working hard to present the best they could have for their audience.
Then, Mr. Pure Energy cited the competition that he has with the Concert King even though they are different. “I’ll share you a competition that kept me on my toes for many years. It wasn’t station affiliation. It was this guy named Martin Nievera. He was forever my competitor,” Gary shared.
He said that people intentionally or not would compare them even though they are in different genres. Martin is a ballader while Gary has a lot of upbeat songs. “And even if we were different, it was a kind of competition that brought out the best in us,” he added.
In the same way, Gary said that the two Sunday musical shows are being compared as well. He said that it is good that there is healthy competition because this pushes the artists and the people behind the camera to do their best.
Without the sense of competition, the seasoned singer said that everyone will just relax and feel overconfident. Gary Valenciano also stressed that he does not care what other people would say but he is in ASAP to be at his best and not to show to anyone that he is better than others.
