DSWD Secretary Erwin Tulfo Gives Statement on Educational Assistance Payout

ERWIN TULFO – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary spoke on the distribution of educational cash aid.

The opening of classes is fast approaching. On Monday, August 22, 2022, classes in public elementary and high schools will start. According to the Department of Education (DepEd), 90% of the schools in the country including state universities and colleges are ready for in-person classes.

From August to October 31, elementary and secondary schools are set under blended learning – a mixture of distance learning (online classes and modules) and in-person classes. The education department wants the resumption of the full in-person classes by November.

Several parents and students are currently busy buying school supplies as the opening of classes draw near. However, the costs of school supplies now are more challenging since they have increased.
