HEART EVANGELISTA – Actor and director John Prats opens up about the split with Heart Evangelista before and how it affected his career.
Famous actor and director John Prats and Kapuso actress Heart Evangelista were formerly a love team and back in the days, their partnership on-screen was well-loved. In a previous article, the actress shared that they were “MU” before. It did not prosper into a formal relationship but they remained friends. What they’ve had was puppy love.
It didn’t work out because there was a time when the actor felt like he was being choked by being with her. Since he was just young, all he thought was enjoying life.
Heart is now happily-married to Senato Chiz Escudero while Prats married actress Isabel Oli and they now have kids.
And now, recalling it all, Prats shared something about how their split affected his life and his career. Accordingly, after the split, his career went downhill. Works and projects seemed to have evaded and what frustrated him during that time was the soaring career of Evangelista.
“Kasi nakikita mo ‘yung dating love team mo na ang ganda ng career. Tapos ikaw feeling mo walang plano sa ‘yo. Anong gagawin ko to reinvent myself?” he expressed. And in terms of reinventing himself, he found a way to grab second chance in show business and that is his passion for dancing.
After his stint in PBB, projects flooded him. One project came after another and that was clearly his second shot.
“Feeling ko blessed ako kasi hindi ako nawala. Until nagkaroon ako ng family. Na-realize namin ni Liv (Isabel Oli) na hindi naman enough ‘yung twice a week taping para mabigay mo ‘yung needs ng family mo,” he added.
He was actually supposed to leave ABS-CBN but he was stopped by his boss. He was then given the role in Ang Probinsyano.
