This past statement of Cherie Gil was recalled after her death
Award-winning actress Cherie Gil once admitted that she is afraid of getting old and this statement that she made years ago was recalled after her death.
The world of showbiz was saddened when news surfaced about the death of one of the icons in the Philippine showbiz industry. Cherie has become the standard a “kontrabida”. It has become a goal of many younger stars to have a chance to work with her.
In a previous report, it was stated that she has been receiving treatment from a cancer center in the States. Many showbiz personalities expressed grief over Cherie’s death, like her close friend Megastar Sharon Cuneta. Cherie Gil is only 59 years old.
Following her death, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, her past statement during an interview was recalled. It was an episode of Tonight With Boy Abunda on ABS-CBN. It was posted on YouTube on January 9, 2018.
During the interview, Cherie talked about how proud she is of her kids’ achievements. “They are my drive! They are the ones who have proven to me what evolution is all about and becoming better than the past generation,” the late actress said.
She also faced the famous golden mirror of Tito Boy. The seasoned TV host told Cherie to describe the girl she sees in the mirror. “Ang hirap. I will not do this! Ang dami ko ng wrinkles! Dine-describe ko na. Aging,” she answered.
Then, Tito Boy asked her if she is afraid of getting old, and Cherie Gil admitted “a little bit.” When asked why she said that, the late actress said it is because she is vain and that she does not want to go through injections. “But I hope my emotions grow as old as my face kasi it doesn’t seem to keep up,” she added while laughing.
