John Lloyd Cruz stars in ‘Kapag Wala na ang mga Alon’
A-list actor John Lloyd Cruz did the movie Kapag Wala na ang mga Alon directed by prominent filmmaker Lav Diaz and this is part of the 79th edition of the Venice Film Festival.
John Lloyd’s talent as an actor has been receiving positive feedback over the years. With more than two decades of being in the entertainment industry, his various acting projects on the small and big screens have paved the way to his star status now.
His movie by Direk Lav is set to be part of the lineup for the Venice Film Festival’s Out of Competition section, based on the article in Inquirer. The organizer of the festival announced this through a Facebook post.
It was stated in the post that the movie is under the fiction category that also features movies by Italian director Francesco Carrozzini titled The Hanging Sun, Living of South African director Oliver Hermanus American actress-filmmaker Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling featuring Harry Styles, and Florence Pugh.
The Pinoy movie’s official Facebook Page also announced this. “Lav Diaz is back at the La Biennale di Venezia! His latest, ‘Kapag Wala Na Ang Mga Alon (When The Waves Are Gone)’ will be screened, out of competition at its 79th edition!” the post stated.
Aside from John Lloyd Cruz, the movie that is about the best investigators of the Philippines who witnessed “his institution’s being a party to a murderous anti-drug campaign, which is spearheaded by no less than the president of the country, Rodrigo Duterte” also features Ronnie Lazaro, Shamaine Buencamino, and DMs Boongaling.
Kapag Wala na ang mga Alon is the fourth collaboration between John Lloyd Cruz and Direk Lav Diaz. In the past, they already did three films together – Isang Salaysay ng Karahasang Pilipino, Historya ni Ha, and Ang Babaeng Humayo.
