FAMAS AWARDS 2022 NOMINEES – Charo Santos, Daniel Padilla, are Sharon Cuneta all up for top acting prize.

The Film Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) announced Friday the list of titles, creatives, and actors up for trophies in this year’s annual awarding ceremony. The 70th edition will be held on July 30 at the Metropolitan Theatre in Manila and for this year, a physical ceremony will be administered.

It named 15 categories, including Best Picture, Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Actress. Kapamilya stars such as Daniel Padilla and Charo Santos-Concio for their portrayal in “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” and Sharon Cuneta for “Revirginized” are all vying for the lead-performance award.

“Discover this year’s acclaimed movies and topnotch performances from the Philippines’ biggest stars, as Famas recognizes the best with the grandest celebration of a lifetime, a milestone fitting for a platinum anniversary,” said its Facebook post.

Also on the list are Kapuso stars Dingdong Dantes nominated for best actor for “A Hard Day” and Rita Daniela who has received best actress and best original song citations for “Huling Ulan Sa Tag-Araw”.

The other Best Actor nominees apart from Dantes and Padilla are Christian Bables for “Big Night,” Vince Tanada and Jerome Ponce for “Katips,” and Mon Confiado for “Arisaka.”

And for the Best Actress Category, the other nominees are Maja Salvador for “Arisaka,” Nicole Laurel Asensio for “Katips,” Janine Gutierrez for “Dito at Doon,” and Rita Daniela for “Huling Ulan sa Tag-Araw.”

The leading entry is “Katips” with 17 nominations, including best picture, director, actor, and actress. This is followed by “Big Night” which garnered 13 nominations.
