Celebrities are saddened by the death of Phillip Lazaro
Actor-director Phillip Lazaro died and on July 11, his friends in the Philippine entertainment industry shared their heartbreaking messages.
Phillip has been in the industry since the 1990s. From being an actor in different movies and TV shows, he honed his talent and became a director. Based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Phillip was the second unit director of some TV series in the Kapuso network such as Prima Donnas Season 2 (2022), Widow’s Web (2022), and Nagbabagang Luha (2021).
On Monday, message condolences from his colleagues were shared on Facebook. Production designer Jay Custodio said that today is a sad day because one of the finest and kindest directors he worked with passed away. “He is also one of the sweetest and (most) supportive directors! Praying for the repose of your sould Direk Philip Lazaro! You will be missed!” Custodio wrote.
Comedienne-singer Tuesday Vargas expressed shock upon hearing the sad news. “Sobra akong nabigla sa nabalitaan ko. Ma mi miss kita Mama Phi. Rest in power. I love you,” she said.
Actor Neil Coleta said that it was an honor for him to have the chance to work with Phillip. Stylist Julius Tarog shared that he will always remember Phillip for being someone who would make other people laugh.
Actress Jan Marini Alano Pizarras thanked Phillip Lazaro for sharing a wonderful friendship with her for two decades. There were also personalities from comedy bars who expressed grief upon learning about the death of the actor-director who used to perform in comedy bars years ago.
As of this writing, the family of Phillip Lazaro has not released an official statement yet regarding this matter.
