‘Idol Philippines’ judges sang a song by Chito Miranda
Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda has this reaction when his fellow Idol Philippines judges Regine Velasquez, Moira dela Torre, and Gary Valenciano sang their son Don’t Touch My Birdie.
The said song was included in the band’s 1997 album titled Buruguduystunstugudunstuy. Its lyrics can be playful and some people believe that the song has a double meaning. This is one of the most popular songs of the iconic Pinoy band.
In a recent Instagram post of Moira, she shared the soulful version of Don’t Touch My Birdie and she was joined by OPM icons Regine and Gary. They sang the first line of the chorus part and their blending was superb. “Don’t Touch My Birdie” – @parokyaniedgar Cover by @idolphilippines s2 judges,” Moira wrote in the caption of her post.
The three judges of Idol Philippines were sitting beside each other. Chito Miranda was also sitting beside them. It can be seen that the Parokya ni Edgar frontman shook his head while trying to contain his laugh. Some staff members of the issue can be heard laughing. When the song ended laughing and clapping can be heard.
Moira moved the camera to show Chito’s reaction. Before the video ended, Gary Valenciano quipped, “Don’t touch it.” As of this writing, the video has already reached almost half a million views. Several celebrities commented on this. “Panalo. Talagang high note pa rin ni Ate Reg ang dulo,” Pinoy Big Brother host Bianca Gonzales wrote.
Meanwhile, Chito Miranda recently shared his thoughts on the success of Parokya ni Edgar’s song Your Song which was written and sung by their guitarist Gabriel Chee Kee. He said that the success of a band does not depend on the vocalist only.
