Car Carrying 5 People Falls from Bridge in Iligan

CAR – A four-wheeled vehicle carrying five (5) people accidentally fell from a broken bridge in Sitio Merila, Iligan.

Accidents usually happen in an unforeseen manner unless it was triggered by a reckless move. The road is undeniably one of the riskiest places thus drivers are really advised to drive safely and with the presence of mind. Every day, there are a lot of accidents happening on the road.

Some of these accidents left no casualties while others left some people injured. There are also unfortunate incidents that cost the lives of the people aboard the vehicle. It is important to always drive with precautions and it is also important for the authorities to place warnings on risky areas that can trigger accidents to take place.

Recently, in Iligan, a car fell from the broken bridge in the wee hours of the day. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the accident took place in Barangay Ubaldo D. Laya at Sitio Merila, Iligan.

Based on the report, the car crossed the bridge and continued until the broken area of the infrastructure. It was damaged by the flood caused by the low pressure that hit the area last March.

According to Iligan City Police Office Major Zandrex Panolong, the driver of the vehicle is safe from the accident. The vehicle carrying four (4) passengers was driven by Abdullah Rasol. They were all residents of Lanao del Sur.

Two (2) of the four (4) passengers were hurt in the incident. They were brought to a hospital but they refused to be treated. According to Albhenor Ali, a resident in Barangay Ubaldo, there were also two (2) incidents in the past when motorcycles fell from the said broken part of the bridge. He stressed that the warning device is small and it is not visible at night.
