Accidents can happen anywhere most especially on the road. Daily, there are a lot of road mishaps that left people injured and, worst, some dead. Thus, drivers are always reminded to drive carefully and really consider their and everyone’s safety.

Recently, another road accident took place in a flyover between the Magallanes and Taft stations. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a motorcycle carrying two (2) people fell from the flyover and landed on the tracks of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT-3).

Due to the incident, the MRT-3 temporarily suspended its operations while the emergency personnel attend to the situation. The driver and the passenger of the two-wheeled vehicle both died from the accident.

According to the report, two (2) helmets were spotted near the lifeless bodies of the two (2) persons. Their belongings were also found near them. Another motorcycle driver, Dondon de Juan, who witnessed the accident spoke about what happened.

De Juan estimated that the victims were going about 70 to 75 kilometers per hour. He recalled that they went ahead of him while they were going up the flyover. According to him, after overtaking, he saw that the vehicle of the victims has seemingly lost its balance.

“Pagdating ko dito (Aurora Flyover), di nag-menor kaya pag tama sa railings, diretso po bagsak. Tapos malayo na inabot ng motor,” he said.

Based on the report, the driver claimed that he stopped to check on the victims and saw them not moving. He was shocked when he saw them fall from the flyover. He also thought that they fell on a “high voltage” electric wire.

Currently, the victims are still unidentified. Both the PNP-SOCO and the Pasap PNP investigated the incident.
