KC Concepcion Asks Public For Help After NY film “Asian Persuasion” Hit financial Problems
KC CONCEPCION – Actress KC Concepcion is asking the public for help after her New York film “Asian Persuasion” hit financial problems during production.
Last April, Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion’s daughter, KC Concepcion, was revealed as the lead star of the Hollywood film “Asian Persuasion,” alongside actor Dante Basco. Her role was originally intended for Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga who was unable to take on the project due to schedule conflict.
Other Pinoys included in the film are Yam Concepcion, Toni Labrusca, Apl.de.Ap, Rachel Alejandro, and Rex Navarrete. The movie is the directorial debut of Tony Award-winning producer Jhett Tolentino and the screenplay is written by Mike Ang.
The movie is currently in the post-production stage and is expected to be completed by September this year. In a previous article, KC Concepcion disclosed the reason why she decided to accept this movie project.
The mom of the 37-year-old celebrity revealed something about the “Asian Persuasion.” Megastar said, “Sa akin dumaan yun. Kasi Jhett Tolentino, who is a Grammy and Tony award-winning producer, offered me also a movie before kaya lang we had trouble finding people to finance it because he wanted me to star with A-list American actors. And it was so hard pero beautiful sana yung concept.”

In a post on her Instagram account last June 10, KC Concepcion shared behind-the-scenes footage of her new film. She also showed a release from the production team explaining the situation of their movie.
In the caption, the actress appealed to the public to help her complete her Hollywood movie after it encountered a financial problem during filming.
“ANY amount would help— but most importantly, as we aspire to see our stories, our faces, our languages, our music, our talent, our skill, and our cultures, we can come together right now… one Asian project at a time,” she wrote.
KC Concepcion and Dante Basco will be playing Avery and Mickey who are a divorced Asian American couple living in New York City. Mickey, a slacker, runs a run-down coffee shop in Queens after abandoning his dream of becoming a fine-dining chef after his parents died unexpectedly while he was still in college.
Avery, on the other hand, is a career-oriented lady who runs a fashion design firm on the Lower East Side. Mickey arranges to have Avery marry someone else so he may avoid having to provide her with financial support that he cannot afford, only to find that he wants a second chance with her.
