KC Concepcion gets role previously offered to Toni Gonzaga
Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga was supposed to do a movie in New York titled Asian Persuasion but she was replaced by actress-entrepreneur KC Concepcion.
Last July, it was announced that Toni will be the lead actress in the film directed by Tony Award-winning producer Jhett Tolentino, based on the article in Inquirer.
The movie is about a chef who planned a scheme to remarry his ex-wife in order for him to avoid paying his alimony obligations. However, he later on realized that his feelings for her were already rekindled.
Toni Gonzaga reportedly backed out from this project. The reason she cited was “schedule conflict.” Because of this, KC Concepcion became her replacement.
Filming has already started in New York on April 12 (April 11 in the US). KC will work opposite Filipino-American Hollywood actor Dante Basco. Also included in the cast are Kevin Kreider, Paolo Montalban, Scarlett Sher, Celia Au, Geneva Carr and Jax Bacani.
Yam Concepcion, Rachel Alejandro and Tony Labrusca are among the featured actors in the film, alongside Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap, Janice Sonia Lee, Ami Sheth, Fe Delos Reyes, Joyce Keokham, Rex Navarrete, Imani Hanson and Devin Ilaw are also among the cast members.
With this big opportunity in an international level, KC Concepcion expressed her excitement and happiness. In her recent Instagram post, she shared an article from Variety about the upcoming film.
“Thank you for joining us on this new journey. Grateful to be part of this Asian-American project, with our amazing cast [and] crew,” she said.
Meanwhile, Toni Gonzaga has appeared in several campaign rallies of the UniTeam around the country with her husband film director Paul Soriano. Behind this, she continues doing interviews for her Toni Talks show on her YouTube channel.
