Did Liza Soberano really repeat the history?
Actress Liza Soberano was tagged “ambitious and impatient” by Bandera entertainment columnist Alex Brosas.
Liza is now pursuing her career in Hollywood and along with her decision to go international, she did not renew her contract with her now-former manager Ogie Diaz.
In line with this, Brosas wrote in his recent article that this was the same thing that Liza did to the person who discovered her. “Why are we not surprised when Liza Soberano bolted out from Ogie Diaz’s management? It is simply because she’s ambitious and impatient. And it’s a case of history repeating itself,” the columnist said.
Brosas shared that Liza Soberano was first managed by Dudu Unay who also discovered her but the actress left her first manager because she was impatient when it comes to how her career was developing.
“Nababagalan siya sa career niya kaya naman ang ginawa ni Dudu ay inilapit ito kay Ogie. Ang ending? Si Ogie na ang naging manager ni Liza habang si Dudu ay naging road manager na lang,” Brosas revealed.
The columnist also shared that it was Liza who spotted Dudu on Facebook and that was how they met. Eventually, Dudu made Liza his talent. When the actress was already managed by Ogie, both of them earned millions, but Dudu did not earn much.
“And what about Dudu? Well, until now ay wala pa siyang bahay na nagkakahalaga ng milyones considering na siya ang naka-discover kay Liza, ha!” Brosas stressed. The columnist also shared that there was a time when Liza Soberano received P10 million as her talent fee for a commercial she did.
Ogie Diaz got 30 percent from that as his commission. Luckily, Dudu Unay received P250,00 which Ogie gave to him as a down payment for his car. It took five years for Dudu to pay for that car fully.
Now that Liza has decided to pursue a career in Hollywood, she is leaving Ogie just like what she did to Dudu, the columnist said as for him this is history repeating itself.
“Frankly, hindi naman Hollywood material si Liza. Wala pa nga yata siyang acting award. Wala siya sa kalingkingan nina Kathryn Bernardo at Nadine Lustre na meron ng award, if I am not mistaken, ha,” Alex Brosas said.
