Vice Ganda Decides Not To Be Part of ‘Idol PH’ Season 2, Here’s Why

Vice Ganda has this reason for turning down ‘Idol PH’

Comedian-host Vice Ganda decided not to be part of the second season of the singing competition show Idol Philippines because of this reason.

The first season of the show featured Vice, Regine Velasquez, Moira dela Torre, and James Reid as judges. Just recently, the show introduced two new judges this season and they are Gary Valenciano and Chito Miranda. This will be hosted by Robi Domingo.

In a recent episode of comedian-talent manager Ogie Diaz’s Showbiz Update vlog, he shared that it was the decision of Vice Ganda not to push through with his stint in the Idol Philippines.

Ogie revealed that initially, Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo was named as one of the judges but this did not push through. Vice was excited to work again with Sarah because it has been years since their last project together.

However, when Sarah was out from this stint, Ogie said that Vice lost his excitement. “Excited siya to work with Sarah kasi parang yun lng yung nag-aano, yun ang nagpapa-angat ng pwet niya, nagpapa-excite sa kaniya para maging hurado uli,” Ogie shared.

The close friend of Vice explained that the It’s Showtime host is now on the stage of doing showbiz engagements that makes him happy and fulfilled and not just because he will earn a lot of money from those projects.

On the other hand, Ogie said that technically, Vice Ganda was not replaced by Chito Miranda. When the comedian-host was asked who he would suggest taking his part as a judge, he suggested the Parokya ni Edgar frontman.

Vice said that in order to still have “kapit sa masa” even without him in the show, Chito will be perfect for this.
