Jinggoy Estrada, JV Ejercito ‘Hidwaan’ Recalled After Their Senatorial Win

Will there be a reconciliation between Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito?

The “hidwaan” between siblings Jinggoy Estrada and JV Ejercito was recalled after both of them win in the 2022 senatorial race.

The sons of former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada made their comeback in the Senate. They are both included in the magic 12 senatorial candidates. Because of this, questions arose about the possible reconciliation that will happen between them.

It would be recalled that the conflict between them started in 2012, based on the article in PEP. A headline was the root of the “hidwaan” which was “JV sees sibling rivalry with Jinggoy to extend up to the Senate,” and this did not sit well with Jinggoy.

“I am very upset and deeply hurt over some of the comments made by him and his efforts to generate publicity over a supposed competition or rivalry between us at my expense,” Jinggoy Estrada said in a previous interview.

November of 2012, their father made them end their conflict but the only thing that happened was, “Nagtapikan lang, nagkamayan.” The conflict between the siblings was hyped up because, in 2014, JV was one of the Senators who signed a committee report charging those involved in the pork barrel scam, and Jinggoy’s name was included.

In a recent interview, JV Ejercito was asked if this is the time that he and his brother will reconcile. “Sa ngayon, kasinlamig pa rin ng North Pole ang aming relasyon,” JV said in jest but he stressed that he is willing to work with Jinggoy as long as it is for the welfare of the country.

Titingnan na lang natin. Basta ito’y hindi maging balakid sa aming performance, sa aming trabaho ay okay na rin yun,” JV said.

When Jinggoy Estrada was asked about this, he said that the issue between him and his brother will not help the economy of the Philippines. On the other hand, he said that he can work with anyone in the Senate.

“Ako naman, I can work with anybody. Kahit sino sa Senado, kahit kapatid ko pa iyan, kahit half-brother ko pa iyan, kahit sa opposition senator,” he said adding that he can get along even with his opponent in politics.
