Alden Richards shared that he almost stopped pursuing his showbiz dream
Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards revealed that failing to be part of the Season 5 of Kapuso’s talent search StarStruck almost made him quit showbiz.
Alden is one of the popular leading men in the entertainment industry now. His talent and charm paved his way to success. Throughout the years, his showbiz stints made his fans love him more.
However, the road to success was not always easy for Alden. In a recent podcast interview by Nelson Canlas, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, the Eat Bulaga host admitted that he almost gave up on his dream to be part of the entertainment industry.
He recalled the time when auditioned for StarStruck’s fifth season. Alden Richards was able to meet Rocco Nacino back then. “‘Yun nakakausap-usap ko na si Rocco noon tapos si Sarah Lahbati. Also parang mayroon na kaming small group at that time noong nasa top 100 pa lang kami,” Alden shared.
When the top 60 was announced, Alden was included but this was not televised. At that time, they had to wear a white shirt but Rocco’s shirt had a print on it and so Alden lent him a plain white shirt.
“Top 60 kami, ito na ‘yung tinelevised. Isa-isa ‘yun. Parang congratulations or thank you, ‘yun lang ‘yung dalawang words na maririnig mo. Kasi 60 kami so feeling ko nasa mga pang-24th, 26th or 25th name ‘yung natawag sa akin,” the Pambansang Bae shared.
That was so important for Alden because he spent a lot of effort to get in. He had to spend on his transportation expenses because he was living in Laguna at that time.
“Ayun na tinawag na, ‘Thank you.’ Ang sakit-sakit nung vow na ‘yun. Kitang-kita mo sa mukha ko na I was disappointed. Sobrang nasaktan ako noong time na ‘yun kasi sometimes hindi pa tama ‘yung oras. Ako naniniwala ako sa tamang timing, sa pasensya. Pero that time hindi pa masyadong malinaw sa akin ‘yung konsepto ng parang ‘Try, you fail, and then try again the next time, fail na naman,’” Alden Richards said.
He admitted that back then, he almost gave up and just let go of his dream in be in showbiz. It was because he already skipped his classes and important events in the lives of his loved ones just to pursue his dream but in the end, he failed.
