10 Cases of Vote Buying Incidents Now Under Investigation, Comelec Says
VOTE BUYING CASES – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is currently investigating 10 cases of vote-buying incidents.
The office of Commissioner Aimee Ferolino heading the Taskforce Kontra Bigay said that the Comelec task force against vote-buying is currently investigating 10 cases of vote-buying incidents.
Ferolino’s office revealed that their Facebook page and email address continue to receive reports and complaints of vote-buying. The task force encourages the Filipino people to report any incidents of vote-buying or vote-selling.
“As of today, we have ten active cases and counting as we are continually receiving numerous reports and complaints of vote-buying in our official email address and Facebook page,” Ferolino’s office stated.
The agency also invited the public to participate in the investigation and submit evidence, which will serve as proof. Complainants may seek help from the Philippine National Police and Integrated Bar of the Philippines’ assistance desks.
“Not only to report incidents of vote-buying or vote-selling, but to come out and to actively participate in the investigation through the execution of an affidavit and submission of evidence,” the task force added.
Concerned citizens may report any incidents of vote-buying and vote-selling to Task Force Kontra Bigay’s email address [email protected] and to their official Facebook page.
