The 2022 Elections are only a week away from now. Both local and national elections are set to be held. Under the latter, there will be elections for president, vice president, and senator. The senatorial race gathers candidates from different fields.
There are candidates for senator who are coming from the medical field. One of them is Dr. Leo Olarte who is both a doctor and a lawyer.
Personal Background:
Leo Obias Olarte was born in Caloocan City and is currently residing in Quezon City. He is a doctor and a lawyer. He studied at Mountain View College in Bukidnon. As a medical doctor, he is specializing in orthopedics. He is also a professor of law at the Far Eastern University Institute of Law and the University of the East College of Law.
Dr. Olarte is vocal about his belief that the Senate needs a member who is coming from the medical field to lead the country’s response against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Accomplishments:
Attorney and Dr. Leo Olarte is the president of the “Clean Air Philippines Movement, Inc.”. He is also the former president of the Philippine Medical Association who led the organization from 2013 to 2014. He is a professor of legal medicine at the Far Eastern University- Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation Institute of Medicine, FEU Institute of Law, and the University of the East College of Law. He is also a former vice president for Visayas of the Philippine Hospital Association. He is the medical director of the Adventist Hospital-Calbayog Inc.
