Margie Moran Debunks Claim That She’s Endorsing VP Leni Robredo

Margie Moran slammed this pro-Leni post

Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran debunked a Facebook post claiming that she is supporting the presidential candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo.

Many prominent people in society, political and showbiz personalities, as well as recognized groups, have already expressed support for certain candidates in the 2022 elections.

However, some social media posts appeared to have wrong conclusions regarding the political choices of popular personalities in the Philippines, just like what happened to Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai dela Alas.

Previously, Ai-Ai slammed a social media post claiming that she is one of the celebrity Kakampinks. The Kapuso comedienne, later on, declared her support for the UniTeam.

Just recently, Margie Moran became a victim of this “fake news.” She shared a screenshot of a Facebook post showing the photos of the four Pinay Miss Universe. Along with her photo, the photo of Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, and Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray were also featured.

The caption of the said Facebook post stated, “3 out 4 Miss Universe from the Philippines (Margarita, Pia and Catriona) endorsed Leni Robredo as their President.”

Margie contradicted this by saying that she is not endorsing any candidate. “This post is fake news. I will not compromise my position as a government official by endorsing a candidate. My choice is who I think will serve the nation best,” she said.

Based on the article in Balita, Margie Moran is a former president of Ballet Philippines and currently, she is serving as the chairperson of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Previously, Catriona and Pia have vocally expressed their support for VP Leni through their social media posts.
