For Ping Lacson, number of survey leader BBM is not true
Senator Ping Lacson said that he does not believe that 50 percent of Filipinos are Marcos loyalists as survey leader UniTeam senatorial candidate Bongbong Marcos is getting more than 50 percent in surveys.
In most pre-election surveys, BBM is leading with more than half of the combined ratings of other presidential candidates. However, the survey results seemed to be unbelievable for other politicians vying for the highest position in the Philippine government.
Based on the report from Inquirer, Sen. Ping Lacson said that it is simply hard to believe that half of the population of Filipino voters are supporting the Marcoses and the presidential candidacy of Bongbong Marcos.
“I cannot believe for the life of me that there are more than 50 percent loyalists in this country. Marcos loyalists for that matter,” the lawmaker said. He added that he is yet to be convinced regarding this.
“I cannot yet figure out na (that) more than 50 percent of Filipinos are Marcos loyalists. I don’t know. I don’t know about you but that’s me. That’s my opinion,” he said. For him, it is hard to understand that half of the Filipinos are rallying behind the Marcoses despite that there are still a lot who are suffering from effects of martial law.
Lacson pointed out that there are still people who were not being compensated yet. He also said that the high ratings that BBM is getting from surveys are not because people are supporting but it is because the people do not like Vice President Leni Robredo.
“Baka nga tama ‘yung sinasabi nila na ‘yung negative attitude towards the vice president doon napupunta because ‘yung psyche ng Pilipino lagi sa liyamado, ‘di ba?,” Sen. Ping Lacson said.
Then, the lawmaker reminded the voting population that there are still other presidential candidates, who he said are “equally qualified, equally competent, if not more competent, if not more qualified,” and not just Marcos and Robredo.
