Representative Mike Defensor said that Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte is supporting the presidential candidacy of UniTeam’s Bongbong Marcos.
In a recent interview on CNN Philippines’s The Source, Defensor was asked about various topics. He is also running for mayor in Quezon City and he is known for being a supporter of UniTeam.
During the interview, the Anakalusugan Party-list representative was also asked about the recent Pulse Asia survey result in which BBM dropped 4 percent but still led with 56 percent while Vice President Leni Robredo had a nine-percent rise that gave her 24 percent.
“Bongbong Marcos’ lead in Pulse Asia survey biggest compared to past elections. The gap is huge,“ Mike Defensor commented. He also said that although he has nothing against VP Leni, he said that it will be difficult for her to bridge that gap. “Malayo na eh,” the congressman said.
Then, Defensor mentioned that Bongbong Marcos is also getting the support of Quezon City’s chief executive. “With QC Mayor Joy Belmonte showing support for BBM, mahihirapan si VP Leni sa QC,” he said adding that the incumbent QC Mayor supported VP Leni in the past but this will not be the same thing now.
“Pero ngayon, they’re not coming out fully. They support BBM and other candidates,” Defensor said. He also said that the Pulse Asia survey result is stating that it is a sure win for UniTeam’s presidential candidate.
