Conspiracy Theorists Claims Chris Rock Wore “Cheek Pad” Before Will Smith Slapped Him At OSCARS
WILL SMITH – Some viewers revealed their theory that presenter Chris Rock was wearing a cheek pad when actor Will Smith smacked him at the 2022 OSCARS .
Will Smith is one of the world’s biggest stars. On Sunday, March 27, he slapped and swore at Chris Rock after the stand-up comedian crack a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head during the 2022 OSCARS ceremony. Will’s wife previously spoken about her struggles with hair-loss condition due to alopecia.
The singer-actress said it caused her to shave her head. In a previous article, the prominent actor issued an apology for striking Rock. In his IG post, he called his behavior “unacceptable and inexcusable.”
However, there have been speculation that Will Smith and Chris Rock’s altercation on OSCARS was staged. Some netizens have falsely suggested that the slapping incident was stage in a bid to bring back the OSCARS poor viewership figures.
A Twitter user recently shared what appeared to be a magnified image of the Chris’ face when Will smack him suggesting the presenter was wearing a “cheek pad” to lessen the blow. It came with a caption, “In 8k quality images you can see a pad on Chris Rock’s cheek, yeah conspiracy theorists gonna go crazy with this one.”

Professional pics of the slap from the OSCARS, however, clearly showed Chris Rock was not wearing any cheek pads. Here’s photo from photographers Robyn Beck and Neilson Bernard.
Tech website Gizmodo also explained the contraption supposedly seen on Chris’ face by pointing out it was likely an aberration generated by upscaling photographs from the incident. They viral photo may be in high quality but is possibly inaccurate. They just manipulated Chris’ image.
