BROKEN MARRIAGE VOW – Actress Rachel Alejandro reveals that it took them two days to do the iconic dinner scene in “The Broken Marriage Vow”.
Doctor Foster and The World of a Married Couple have both made remarkable performances in the dinner scene – the most iconic of the series. This scene is the time where the legal wife will finally expose the affair of her husband and his young mistress in front of the latter’s series. It is also in this part where the mistress smacks the head of the wife out of anger.
And in the PH adaptation called “The Broken Marriage Vow”, Dr. Jill Ilustre, in seething anger seeking vengeance, said, “Your daughter is sleeping with my husband. Nabuntis ni David ang anak ninyo at pumunta siya ng Amerika para ipa-abort ang bata.”
And playing the role of Lexy’s mother (Lexy is the mistress) is Rachel Alejandro. The trending scene was accordingly done in two days just so they would capture the right emotions over everyone in perfection. She told Philstar that it was a long scene that was taken a couple of days to be completed.
“It took us two days. It had to be done in two different days because hindi talaga kinaya na gawin sa isang araw because it’s a very long scene and dami talagang kinunan na iba’t-ibang reaction shots,” she said. There were also countless takes shot.
What she was truly in awe of is Jodi. She was accordingly really fine and how she would act is always on point. She was left in awe of her. Alejandro even thinks Jodi deserves an award for it because it’s an award-winning performance according to the report.
